Karina LeBlanc Field – Inaugural Ground Breaking Ceremony
Karina’s Olympic dream began on a field in Maple Ridge’s Merkley Park and quickly became Karina’s home away from home after she got cut from the U-15 BC team when she was 15 years old. This field and her 15 Minutes More mantra became the backbone to her Olympic success. She spent countless hours chasing her Olympic dream on this field. This year her practice spot where she dared to dream a big dream is being transformed into a synthetic sporting field that will be named The Karina LeBlanc Field, in her honor. This field is a part of a $2.5 million development project which includes a new parking lot and lighting enhancements.
Please come join Karina LeBlanc, her family and friends, representatives of the Government of Canada, City of Maple Ridge and School District No. 42 at the inaugural ground breaking ceremony on Monday, August 14, 2017.
